Section 26
Election symbols

(1) Election symbols to be distributed to parties and independent candidates for elections held in accordance with this Act shall be determined by the Commission.
(2) Election symbols determined according to sub-section (1) shall be provided to parties and candidates as prescribed.
(3) The election symbol provided under sub-section (2) shall not be used by the candidate of such party or anyone other than the party.
(4) If the candidate leaves his party or joins another party after the election symbol has been awarded to the candidate, the election symbol cannot be changed. If such a candidate is elected, his/her membership will be revoked if the relevant party complains to the commission with proof.
(5) During the distribution of election symbols according to this section, the election symbols distributed by the Commission for the purposes of the election shall be distributed to the candidates of the parties registered with the Commission. In this way, if the commission feels that there is a mistake or difference in the distribution of election symbols, the commission can change such symbols.
(6) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (5), during the distribution of election symbols according to this section, election symbols of the respective parties shall be distributed only to the candidates of the party that has been recognized as a national party in accordance with the prevailing federal law related to political parties. When the election symbol distributed in this way is included in the ballot paper, it will be included based on the number of votes received by such party in the immediately preceding House of Representatives election under the proportional election system. But in the case of the first election to be held after the commencement of this Act, election symbols of the respective parties will be distributed to the candidates of all the parties representing the Legislature-Parliament. When the election symbol distributed in this way is included in the ballot paper, it will be included based on the number of votes received by such party in the Constituent Assembly Member Election 2070 under the proportional election system.
(7) According to sub-section (6), the election officer shall provide election symbols to party candidates and independent candidates who have not received election symbols from the group of election symbols determined to be used by candidates standing independently.
